Muddy River Trading LLC (MRT) is a NFA registered Commodity Trading Advisor based in Tennessee. Created in March of 2021, MRT is the creation of its founder Chad Smith. As a third generation owner of a Western Tennessee family farm, Chad has always been a student of the commodity markets. After spending 20 years in the commercial grain space studying and analyzing the world agricultural markets, Chad decided to pursue his lifelong aspiration of actively trading the markets that he had researched for many years. Starting in November of 2021, MRT LLC began accepting client funds to trade. Muddy River Trading specializes in the Grain, Livestock, and Soft commodity markets. The trading approach is driven by the use of the price action of the underlying commodity to build the technical and fundamental picture all while using astute risk management. MRT uses a systematized approach to marry the technical and fundamental ideas into an actionable trade plan. Risk Management is the one part of the trading equation where the number is always quantifiable, so therefore is the primary factor in every trade decision.
